Candle Safety Tips for ensuring your candles last as long as possible and burn as safe as possible!
*Burning Your Candles*
Be sure that you will be able to stay around your candle for the entire time of burning and DO NOT leave the candle unattended. Do not burn candles in reach of children and animals. Trim the wick to 1/4" before each burn. For container candles, place on a safe, heat-resistant surface. For votives, ensure they are placed inside a snug fitting votive holder. DO NOT place candles on tables underneath drapery or any other low hanging decorations. There should be several feet all around the candle that is free of other objects.
*Candle Burn Times*
To maximize candle longevity, establish proper burn times. Burning them for longer periods may actually increase the overall burn time. Suggested rule of thumb is one hour for every inch of candle width. So, if the candle is 3" wide, burn for at least three hours before extinguishing. You can also extinguish, then trim the wick and relight.
